Proceedings of the Third Conference "Wolfram Technologies" (SPbESU, 2015)
On June 9, 2015, the Third Wolfram Technology Conference was held at St. Petersburg State University of Economics (SPbHEU), which was attended by over 250 people. We are pleased to present its materials to you: this is a large number of speaker presentations, as well as their presentations, which you can download and study in detail, as well as use all the codes given in the reports in your work or hobby.
The conference examined a huge number of areas of knowledge: cloud computing, corporate solutions, modeling and simulation systems, computational finance, educational technologies, machine learning, computational geometry, data science, visualization, images, sound and signal processing, high-performance computing, publishing and education.
Keynote: Units of measurement, physical quantities and scientific data in Wolfram Language
Michael Trott | Chief Scientific Advisor, Wolfram | Alpha Research Groups
In his report, Michael talks about the concept of knowledge in the Wolfram Language, the Entity sublanguage for direct interaction with Wolfram | Alpha supervised databases, and also talks about the new functionality that will appear in the upcoming versions of the Wolfram Mathematica system: from the calculated Wolfram mathematical formula base Functions Site (contains over 300,000 formulas), up to anatomy data. At the end, Michael cites a huge number of interesting examples that use the knowledge bases built into Wolfram Language: from constructing the distribution of a possible monetary amount in a bag, if only its mass is known, to solving complex physical problems. Manipulating structured data in Wolfram Mathematica (Wolfram Language)
Leonid Shifrin | Consultant, Advanced Research Group, Wolfram Research
Leonid talks about the database format built in Wolfram Language - Dataset and Association , as well as the functionality he develops for the kernel: lazy lists (lazy lists) that allow working with objects of arbitrary size (several terabytes) directly in the Wolfram Mathematica front end, which allows solving Big Data tasks much more efficiently.
Recording performances (sorry for the poor quality of the recording):
Wolfram Language is a universal tool of modern specialists: scientists, managers, designers, publishers, engineers and programmers.
Roman Osipov | Head of the IT department of the publishing house “BALASS”, certified instructor of technologies and training courses of the Wolfram Research company, head of the Russian-language support of Wolfram Mathematica
Roman's report on the set of examples from the real works of the author will show the use of the Wolfram Language ( Mathematica systems and not only) in solving various problems faced by leaders, scientists, designers, researchers, web developers and people who are simply passionate about their hobbies. . It will show how you can speed up your work at times, automate and solve many tasks not previously available to you, as well as expand your professional horizons by using new areas of knowledge, algorithms and technologies.
Machine learning and other intelligent and automated features of Wolfram technology
Vitaly Kaurov | Technical Relations and Development Strategies Expert, Wolfram Research
Vitaly talks about, perhaps, one of the most popular directions now - machine learning, as well as machine vision problems. From the report, you will learn about the creation of classifiers, image recognition, currency rate prediction, the new features of the Wolfram Language in the field of computational photography, as well as many other things.
Recording performances (sorry for the poor sound quality):
New symbolic solutions in the two-dimensional problem of pore elasticity
Alexander Papusha | Head of the Department of Continuous Media Mechanics and Marine Oil and Gas, Murmansk State Technical University
Alexander talks about how to obtain complex analytical solutions in a two-dimensional problem of pore elasticity (a system of partial differential equations), using the Wolfram Language functional for searching for direct and inverse Laplace transforms, simplifying expressions, symbolically solving nonlinear equations and their systems.
Maxim Sakharov | Wolfram Research certified technology and training instructor
Maxim talks about the Wolfram SystemModeler system, which serves for visual modeling of physical systems, as well as its close integration with the Wolfram Mathematica system.
Instant verification of ownership of luxury items: building algorithmic startups in the Wolfram Programming Cloud
Stanislav Polonsky | Truly Unique Corporation
The story of Stanislav is devoted to the methods of creating digital signatures and their verification, as well as the implementation of such solutions using the Wolfram cloud programming cloud and the encryption system that appeared in the 10th version of Wolfram Mathematica .
Introduction to image processing algorithms and their applications
Mikael Egibyan | Consultant, Mathematica R & D, Wolfram Research
Mikael talks about a lot of spectacular and beautiful examples about the enormous possibilities of Wolfram Language in the field of image processing: creating your own filters, automatic image processing, working with 3D images, image retouching, computational photography and much more.
Wolfram Mathematica in the simulation of anthropomorphic systems
Andrey Borisov | Candidate of Technical Sciences, National Research University "MEI" in Smolensk

His report discusses a closed cycle of problems associated with modeling the dynamics of anthropomorphic mechanisms, methods for compiling differential equations of motion, numerical solving systems of differential equations of motion, as well as animated visualization of the motion of anthropomorphic systems.
Wolfram Mathematica Marketing Survey Results Study
Andrey Zelenitsa | Bakotech Group
Andrei talks about the processing of the results of the marketing research of the introduction of a new Service in his company, and the creation of a portrait of a potential consumer. In addition, he talks about processing the results of the survey, importing data from MS Excel and their automatic visualization and analysis in Wolfram Mathematica .
Design and analysis of a mathematical model of the oscillations of a Belousov-Zhabotinsky chemical reaction using Wolfram Mathematica
Sahib Huseynov | Associate Professor of the Department "Informatics" of Ganja State University
Sahib's story is devoted to the study of one of the most interesting chemical reactions - the Belousov-Zhabotinsky chemical reaction, or the vibrational chemical reaction, in which the solution constantly changes its color, becoming, for example, either transparent or dark blue.
