I want to share with you my latest project.
About a year ago I downloaded the
Aelios Weather app on the iPad .
It hurt my eyes with its simplicity and unusual interface.
And that's what happened:
As always, I was wondering how advanced HTML5 was, and whether it was possible to create something the same.
')
At the heart of the interface is a circle, which seems to be like a compass and a watch in one person.
You can turn the compass in order to show the days of the week or the time of day.
On it you can see the time of sunsets and sunrises.
An arrow appears inside the circle, which is automatically directed to the largest point in a given radius of the population.
I started by trying to understand the interface.
Then I began to look for how to integrate the Google Maps API.
At the moment, the site supports the following interface elements:
- map and interface elements
- hour circle with an arrow indicating the most populated place under it
- you can turn the clock and see the effect of closing and opening the shutter
- current time and times of dusk and dawn on the circle
- search by keywords and determine the location of the user through the HTML5 Geolocation API
- clicking on the city shows the weather forecast (it is not connected to any service yet, so it is incorrect)
The project is released in Github here
github.com/altryne/aelios .
I would be happy reviews and ideas for improvement.
PS - Big thanks to
