Skype has released an update for its iPhone app. The new version supports multitasking: this means that users can receive calls via Skype while they are working with other applications, or when the iPhone is locked (and in your pocket, for example). And during a conversation, you can switch back to another application - for example, clarify what goes to the cinema, or watch something in the mail. In addition, the sound quality was improved, and the interface graphics was updated to take full advantage of the Retina Display screen resolution on the iPhone 4.

You can download the application in the
iTunes AppStore .
Skype believes that higher quality of calls and convenience of working with the application (due to multitasking and the ability to call via a 3G connection) lead to the fact that people call more often and
speak longer . In addition, the entire mobile communications industry is undergoing profound changes, for example, operators are beginning to introduce differentiated models of traffic pricing.
In the light of all these changes, Skype decided to abandon its previously announced plans to introduce an additional charge for calls over 3G.
Multitasking is supported on iOS 4 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or iPod touch 3rd generation (32GB and 64GB late 2009)
