
Today, Google announced the opening of the API for Google Buzz, which will give developers access to all the information published in Buzz in real time via
PubSubHubBub syndication . The API is called Firehose.
According to Google, this is one of the most requested features requested by the developer community.
Some Google partners are already using Firehose on their projects. There you can also see examples of this use:
Collecta ,
Gnip ,
OneRiot ,
Postrank Analytics and
Superfeedr's Track .
Before launching, the following features were added to the API:
→ feeds with user comments;
→ feeds with user-like materials;
→ reference counters in Buzz;
→ geotagging user activity.
