Virtual trips to famous places of the world in 3D

Quite by chance I came across an interesting and previously unlit project on Habr- Habré - Vizerra.com . Having downloaded and installed a small client, it is possible to travel around 3D models of famous places in the world.

The free movement mode is available, as well as the interactive guide mode (with Russian or English voice acting).

First of all, you need to download a small client from the site and install it. When the client starts, it will check the necessary components on the computer and, if necessary, update them (DirectX, PhysX, Visual Studio Runtime, etc ...)

Next, go to the locations section, where we select the location of interest and download it.

Locations are downloaded once, and take from 10 to ~ 300 Mb, depending on the number of models and textures, as well as the duration of the sound guide.

Then you can enjoy a virtual journey. It is pleasant to note that there are a lot of Russian people in the development team (and that’s probably all). I also noticed that the program was most likely built on the basis of the Quest3D 3D engine.

The program is quite demanding on system resources. Although the site and the minimum requirements, but it is better to adhere to the recommended:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo / AMD 64 X2 5200+
RAM: 4 GB
Video card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX / ATI Radeon HD 4770 levels
Internet access at a speed of at least 2560 Kbps

Enjoy watching!

PS: I'm not related to the development team.
