The German has released "the most vulnerable OS" based on Linux

Thorsten Schneider, a lecturer at the Faculty of Technology at the University of Bielefeld in Germany, released Damn Vulnerable Linux, a special distribution that absorbed "everything that a good Linux system should not have."

Damn Vulnerable Linux includes “hacking-oriented” (outdated, improperly configured, etc.) software (Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc.), as well as a number of tools for identifying various problems, compiling your programs, debugging applications, etc. All this is located on a 1.8-gigabyte LiveDVD, available for download from the project site .

The author himself explained the creation of Damn Vulnerable Linux by the fact that he needed a demonstration system, with the help of which it would be convenient to teach students various problems in IT security.

UPDATE (22:28): tarlarion prompted that, it turns out, the DVL project is more than one year old. But the main thing is completely different. As some here wanted, this distribution was already used in one of the Russian universities for teaching students the basics of IT security . To be more precise, this is MIEM (Technical University), Department of ICT , course “Information Security”, teacher - Andrei Grunau. See how wonderful? Do not rush to bury Russian education, colleagues! :-)
