FL Studio (formerly Fruity Loops) is a popular sequencer for writing music, created by programmer Didier Dembren, who has been developing this program for eight years, and released by Image-Line Software. Music is created by recording and mixing audio or MIDI material.
Hello, dear inhabitants of the community.
This is a small review of useful FL Studio plugins for writing rock music. And how to make the sound of guitars or drums more realistic.
In the current review, we briefly describe what plug-ins and tools you can use to write an electric guitar, rock guitars with processors, and also a little bit about how to set it up for the beginning.
Guitar (Realstrat + Guitar Rig)
Of course, you can also use the built-in Slayer or Slayer2 plug-in to record rock guitars, but the sound is not very impressive. And there is a great alternative to Slayer,
Realstrat is a virtual VST instrument for modeling electric guitar sounds.

When writing a realistic rock guitar, a bunch of
Realstrat is used, with the
Slayer2_FX effect applied to it or the virtual guitar processor
Guitar Rig (
hereafter, we’ll talk about it). To use various guitar tricks (Bend, Mute, Scrapes, etc.) on Realstrat you can use effects, the plug-in provides for switching effects using the Key Switches

In Guitar Rig choose the processor that we need.

Figure 2:
This is where the effect matches the keys in the Piano Roll, for example, D1 BridgeMute is D3 in the Piano Roll, C # 1 Interval is C # 3 in the Piano Roll, etc. Right effects on bottoms (at the beginning), and left effects on higher ones (at the end).
Now about the effects themselves:
- BridgeMute - muting strings.
- SlideDown - the descent of the strings.
- SlideUp - rise (similar to the previous one).
- Scrapes - to give realism, squeaks, gnash on a guitar, etc.
- Bend - lift, raise the note at a certain interval.
- Interval - the use of different octaves, reefs, etc.
Here is a small example created at the time of writing this post.
If something is dropped or you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.Continued: Bass guitar and drums.
