So, a huge number of people who decided to switch to MODx surf the Internet in search of reference books, textbooks, filling up the forums with the questions “is there anything in Russian?”
Today I would like to present the book by Sergey Zuev “The official site based on MODx - how it is done” Part I: “A Handbook for the Editor of the Site”. This person succeeded in the fact that many people, including myself, were not able to get together and release an extremely useful book for both beginners and those who continue.

')
The author touched upon many interesting and relevant topics, using, at the same time, a fairly recent MODx 1.0.2 system. Of course, the book is replete with various digressions, sometimes too detailed descriptions, but as the author wrote on his website - the book is designed to train website editors from scratch. By the way, the author is modest, calling his works a manual (and this is with 300 pages of content).
From the Introduction:
, ( — ) c Etomite CMS ( — Etomite) MODx CMF ( — MODx).And so, the following chapters are included in the Book:
1. Introduction
2. Chapter 1. Comparison of MODx and Etomite
3. Chapter 2. Editor’s work
4. Chapter 3. TinyMCE Visual Editor
5. Chapter 4. Preparation of texts for the site
6. Chapter 5. Images on pages
7. Chapter 6. Website Design
8. Chapter 7. Special pages and snippets
9. Chapter 8. Users in MODx
10. Chapter 9. Site Editor Tools
Another good news is that the author promises to soon lay out the second part, where questions will be addressed:
-install MODx from the distribution on the local server;
-mode MODx;
- installation of the site on a hosting;
-transfer of the current site from Etomite to MODx.
Well, as for me, this is an excellent book for both personnel training and self-development, especially since there is only one alternative: Antano Solar John: MODx Web Development, in English.
The book is published in electronic form, is free and is publicly available on the
website of the author .
