Airflow Cooling Technology - airflow distribution technology

Overheated laptop body is not only harmful, for example, if you keep it on your lap, but it’s also not comfortable to work with. Therefore, it is not surprising that notebook vendors pay so much attention to how to "bring down the temperature" of a laptop. Toshiba has gone further than others in this direction and has already introduced a laptop with the new Airflow Cooling Technology cooling system. We mentioned it when we talked about the Portégé R700. Now we offer to see how this system is arranged in more detail.

The airflow distribution technology of Airflow Cooling Technology, developed by Toshiba in conjunction with Intel, made it possible to equip the ultra-thin Portégé R700 and L630 with the latest Intel Core i5-520M or Core i7-620M processors. At the same time, the lowest noise level of the fan and the case heating were ensured.

How is this implemented?

Unlike earlier models, where the heated air was simply removed from the heat-generating components, the Portégé R700 and L630 components are cooled with directional airflow, which makes the cooling system more efficient.

Air enters through the bottom of the case and is displayed on the left. Another feature was the placement in one place of all fuel elements. In combination with an improved air vent, this avoids damage to non-heated elements.

The changes also affected the cooler. In the previous model, the R600 used a cooler with a diameter of 40 mm and with a rotational speed of 8500. The Portégé R700 used a larger large cooler with a diameter of 53 mm, but with a smaller number of revolutions per minute (4500). But through the body passes the same amount of air.

The thermal sensor shows that the heating zones of the case are localized, and thanks to the air removal system with a laptop, you can work safely.
