So Pantech followed the trends and announced the handset for Android: SKY IM-A650S Vega
Although it will be sold only in Korea by the local operator SK Telecom, nevertheless, the handset is interesting:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz
- 3.7-inch AMOLED display, 480 x 800
- 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video
- T-DMB TV tuner
- Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS
- 3.5mm audio jack
- 500 megabytes of internal memory
- slot for memory cards microSD / microSDHC (up to 32 gigabytes)
- DivX and Xvid support
Dimensions: 115.95 x 59.4 x 10.95 mm
Weight: 114 grams.
This device works under Android 2.1 with a proprietary three-dimensional user interface, but they are upgrading to 2.2.
How much it costs is still unclear, but the fact of the appearance of such a tube from Pantech is interesting.
I don’t know how in Russia, in Ukraine, they tried to come to the market, but didn’t get success, although they had very, very interesting pieces of iron at that time. Perhaps their sales have failed due to prices. I remember that they were the first and the only ones (and you still can’t see anything like this anywhere else) who embedded a fingerprint scanner in their flagship phone. Then it was very outlandish :)

In general, an entertaining vendor and his arrival on the Android-smartphone market promises a lot of interesting things.
