The Germans propose to create a "code of honor" on the Internet

Today, the German Minister for Consumer Protection (indeed, a useful position), made an interesting proposal. The minister proposed to create a code of honor on the Internet. The minister’s name is Ilse Aigner, and in her opinion, the internet’s code of honor should include a total of ten rules. To the credit of the German politician, she does not impose her opinion, and invites the Internet community itself to work out these rules.

However, Ilse nevertheless mentioned that, in her opinion, such a set of rules should be a kind of protection of the safety of personal information. She believes that the commandments of the rules of the Code must be clear to all users, clear, concise, and most importantly - short. Yes, verbiage in such documents is usually enough, so the proposal deserves all the praise.

It is worth noting that Ilze Aigner abandoned her social network account number 1, in her opinion, Facebook does not pay enough attention to the issue of the safety of personal information of each user. But in Germany, they love not only order but also actively promote maximum protection of private data on the web.

Recently, Google was even embarrassed - the Germans calculated that the Street View service of Google, without regard for the legality of such actions, collects data from unprotected WiFi networks. The corporation acknowledged that it had indeed violated the law and stopped collecting such data.

And how does the habrasoobshchestvo think whether the “Internet Code of Honor” is needed? Personally, it seems to me that the need for such a long overdue. Of course, there are all sorts of unwritten rules, there are a lot of them - but why not create your own set of “fair rules”?

Maybe ahead of the Germans, and today we will begin to offer their own points? You can also make a "Code of Honor Runetchik", for example. Or immediately participate in the drafting of such an international code proposed by the German. It would be very interesting to look at the result of the work of thousands of people who make up the document, which can be called the “honor and conscience” of the Internet. The mind is the network community itself, that is, we are with you.

By the way, here are the primary sources - German and in English. language .
