Released Parted Magic 5.0, an open source Linux distribution for creating, moving, deleting and resizing disk partitions. Parted Magic requires only 64 megabytes of RAM. File systems such as NTFS, FAT, ReiserFS, Reiser4, and HFS + are supported. LVM and RAID are also supported.
Judging by the
list of changes , major updates are related to version 2.6.34.1 of the Linux kernel, as well as new programs and some updated packages. Among the latter, version 0.96.1 of the ClamAV antivirus scanner, version 4.01 of the Syslinux kernel boot set and version 0.6.1 of the GNOME Partition Editor (GParted) can be mentioned.
Language support has also been improved. Now users can choose English (default), German, French, Italian, Norwegian, Brazilian or Russian when downloading.
(Does the Brazilian language seem to be the Brazilian version of the Portuguese language?) According to the developer Patrick Werner, the supported languages were determined by the countries where Parted Magic was loaded most of all.
