Last year, Microsoft released a “social” plugin for its email client, which would sync social networks with Outlook. It all started with LinkedIn , but then the company announced the inclusion of MySpace and Facebook in the plugin.

Today, the process of complete integration has ended, not only with Facebook, but also with Windows Live Messenger. In addition, a plugin has been released for users of Outlook 2003 and 2007, thanks to which Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Windows Live Messenger will become part of the email client.

The new Outlook was previously shown at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond. So, what to expect from the novelty:

Speaking in general, this whole bundle is designed to obtain relevant data about the people to whom you write or who write to you. The first thing you can pay attention to is that in the letter a photo of the interlocutor from the Facebook profile appeared. Along with this, you can see the change of statuses, adding photos, changes in positions and so on.

If we add to this all the information coming from LinkedIn, MySpace and Windows Live Messenger, we got a fairly complete picture of the contact, therefore, we can better understand the mood and interests of the interlocutor, which is invaluable when working with clients, for example.

The information is updated in real time, as in Facebook itself. In the meantime, Outlook can only work on receiving data, i.e. through it you can not add friends or change statuses. Microsoft says that the next step will be to integrate other social networks with local popularity into the integration.
