Bina48 - the most humanoid robot in the world

Very similar to the fact that robotics is still slowly penetrating into our lives, becoming closer to the person. For a long time, robots have ceased to be just machines that have been performing a given program for many years. We see robots-musicians , robots-cosmonauts , robots-waiters and robots gradually getting beer to their owners . Perhaps, the future that Isaac Asimov described nearly half a century ago is already near?

Of course, everything can be, but so far the robots are not as humanlike as we would like. In addition, they are far from having a conversation, or at least from doing simple homework. The cost of one more or less functional robot is hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars. The same robot-cosmonaut in general “ate” tens of millions.

But let's keep talking about cosmonauts all over there. The Terasem Movement Foundation presented the “most humanoid robot”, whose name is Bina48. I do not know why the “last name” of the robot is a two-digit number, so many prototypes were hardly created. But Bina 1 is a real woman, a copy of whose face is now in front of you (a white woman is not Bina, just a companion).



Interestingly, the robot is not only similar to its human sister. No, the real Bina spent hours teaching the robot how to speak and move, like herself. Yes, you understood correctly, Bina-robot can learn, although not very quickly. The result, in general, is really impressive - here, and facial expressions, and speech, and in general everything is very similar to a person.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that the ability of Bina-robot to maintain a dialogue with the interlocutor is still far from ideal, you can understand this yourself by viewing the video. However, all this is really very close to the person. It is possible that in five years we will get a robot with arms and legs, and not just a robot-head. And indeed, for so long the developers have been trying to create an “iron man” that there are real doubts about the success of this business.

We wish Binet to get a body and, just as importantly, at least some intelligence, not to be like a parrot, confused in its own vocabulary. Or, if you do not hope for the intellect, maybe teach Bina to wear beer? That would be great!
