Unlock Xbox 360 at home. Just for Fun!

Without ever being a gamer, the console still took it for the fun of it. Why Xbox, not PS3? The answer lies on the surface - the possibility of unlocking. We will not discuss the moral side of this action, geek do not feed bread - let me pick a new piece of iron.

The unlock is not particularly difficult, but at the latest revisions of the console with Lite-On drives ( FW Revision 93450C ), you can't do without an iron mode to enter the drive in Vendor Mode. To produce an iron mod, you can go several ways - The MRA Hack, The Xecuter Probe II, The Xecuter LT Switch, Vampire & Rebuild Board, Vampire w / o Rebuild Board.
')
The MRA Hack is the simplest scheme that you can assemble yourself at no extra cost. You will need a mounting knife, a pair of wires, a resistor of 20 ohms and a switch to enable the contact to be broken quickly. The big minus of this method is that after flashing it will be necessary to restore all the cut tracks on the printed circuit board.

I chose the most rational and cheap option - Xecuter LT Switch . The advantage is that after soldering on top of the motherboard and unlocking the console, you do not need to restore anything, just switch the switch to the Normal position from the Read / Write mode. It cost me about 4 GBP without including delivery in some English online modding store.

There are still a couple of unresolved issues. Firstly, I don’t have a monitor at home, and secondly, I don’t have Windows on any of the computers, and thirdly, all my computers are portable, so there is no place to connect the SATA lanyard. Well, I have an Aspire Revo working as a home server, a couple of questions are being solved from here, the image via HDMI is output on TV, the drive is also connected to Revo eSATA-SATA with a cord. What to do with Windows? Debian GNU / Linux works on Revo and somehow did not want to repartition the partitions, installing Windows in the neighborhood. No problem! There are wonderful distributions for such a case from aleks200059, the vents working from a USB-drive. Wonderful!

Ordered Xecuter LT Switch , XCM 360 Case opening tool and eSATA-SATA drawstring. Mail of Russia as always slows down, but nothing, we have nowhere to hurry, the console is taken for fun, not for games. Parcels go unusually long from all Asian corners, the last parcel arrived 61 days after the order, if my memory serves me. From England, the parcel arrived in a couple of weeks. It seems that for the last six months, parcels from China and Hong Kong intentionally slow down, but oh well ...

The console was disassembled in 10 minutes using the XCM 360 Case opening tool, although even without it it was easy to do, as it turned out. Analyzing, he noted to himself, what a typical PC-shnaya assembly is at the console, I want to cry as much. Microsoft is Microsoft ... Take an example from the same Sony, or something. The next day the drive was captured to work. Understands in a couple of minutes, you need to unscrew the 4 screws on the bottom cover of the drive, disconnect the 3 cables and unscrew the 2 screws on the board. By moving the latch to the right, we can pull out the board and start working on it.

We cut the tracks and clean the grounds in the places indicated on the photo:

Solder the inlay:

With the help of a soldering station, the drive was unsoldered quite quickly without any problems at lunchtime. Ringing the track with peace of mind gathered the drive and carried home. Yes, be careful when connecting loops, I managed to connect a wide cable with great difficulty, it comes into the connector very tight, I was afraid to break it, but everything worked out. Two narrow connect without any problems.

Getting down to the unlock

Switch the switch to the Xecuter LT Switch to the Normal position and connect the drive to the SATA cord. We insert the power cord, the main thing is not to confuse the position of the power connector, when disassembling it is best to mark with a marker in which position it is connected. Turn on the console.

Download the latest version of the Jungle Flasher program, launch and go to the MTK Flash 32 tab. The drive did not want to be detected, as a result it only worked in SATA Mode - Native IDE, and not AHCI. For those who do not know, this mode is set in the BIOS.

Turn off console power. We switch the switch to the Xecuter LT Switch to the R / W position, press the Intro / Device ID button in the program, answer Yes to the question asked. Turn on the power button again and set the switch to the Xecuter LT Switch to the Normal position. After that, your drive will go into Vendor Mode, and the Serial flash will be in the 0x72 status.

Now press the Read button and save the read original drive firmware. Keep this firmware in a safe place! You still need it if you suddenly decide to change the drive again. The read firmware will automatically be loaded into the FirmwareTool 32 tab, after you click the Yes button.

It will automatically spoof the read key from the original firmware to the modified one, in my case it is iXtreme Lite Touch (LT) 1.1 .

How it looks on the screen:

Press the Write button and wait for the status of Write Verified OK! This means that all 4 memory banks were successfully flashed.

Now we need to bring the drive from Vendor Mode to normal mode, to do this, press the Outro / ATA Reset button.

All your drive reflash. Turn off the console, disconnect the SATA cable from the PC, connect the native SATA cable from the set-top box, turn on the console and test the freshly inserted drive. Well that's all. We collect the console and apply for its intended purpose. Good luck!
