Disasters in IT infrastructure are usually not very noticeable. They will not write about them in newspapers, they will not tell on television. Therefore, unfortunately, there is no summary statistics of such failures.
And what will happen if, God forbid, the plane falls? This will be shown in all the news and more than once. Discuss, condemn and take action. What kind? Well, first someone will be fired, and then they will write new regulations, they will start to check planes more carefully before the flight, etc. etc. Did you know that until the 1990s, no measures taken could reduce the percentage of accidents that occurred through the fault of the pilots? The human factor was stronger than any regulations and advanced technologies. And suddenly the situation has changed radically. What happened?
It turned out that everything was very simple. It was at the end of the last century that pilots began to be taught not in classrooms, giving lectures and asking test questions, but on special aircraft simulators. Now it was possible to work out abnormal situations not on the air, but on the ground, and not once, but as much as needed. And this, it would seem, a slight change in the technology of training reduced the number of accidents that occurred due to the fault of the staff, at times. Factor of!
But is it the only way to deal with problems and catastrophes in aviation? Yes, no, of course. The more a person trains, the better he turns out, no matter how much he does. In IT, they realized very quickly. And created a similar learning system. Today it is known to all under the name authorized. The main thing in this system is the presence of those simulators in the classes. That is, you can work out skills in a real situation, under the guidance of an instructor, and not train on your work system, paralyzing the work of the entire office. By the way, the number of errors due to the fault of the staff who have undergone such training also decreases significantly. And it can hardly be considered a coincidence ...
