The project to create a unified Russian distributed information system of science, education and innovation - for 3 billion rubles
A new project is starting in Russia - again global and expensive: a single Russian distributed information system of science, education and innovation - one name is already worth it. The goal also sounds impressive - “the creation of a qualitatively modern infrastructure for research, processing, storage and use of scientific data. To this end, it is planned to create a data storage and processing center, which, from an architectural point of view, will operate as a distributed information system with nodes combining the resources of project participants, as well as a dedicated central node. The key principle of the architecture of this system will be the independent development of electronic resources of the organizations participating in the project with simultaneous integration into a single information space. ”
There are already the first participants: the research centers of the Institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Kurchatov Institute.
Cost - 3 billion rubles in 2011-2012. from the budget, by grants and from sponsors. The planned amount of information resources - up to 10 PB.
