What startup will interest the investor?

Finam held a conference " Internet startups: to survive and succeed, " at which (among other things) they told about how a startup should be in order to interest an investor.
Since the answers to the questions turned out to be quite lengthy, then - a summary of the stated principles of an interesting startup.

What may be of interest to the investor:

- involvement in fashion trends now: eCommerce, Mobile, Media, Social Networking, Cloud, SaaS, search, advertising technologies, content providers, games and Location Based Services.
- product already on the market;
- experience of a startup team;
- availability of patents.

What can alienate an investor:
')
- the regional nature of the project, since it initially limits the possibilities for obtaining profits;
- a large number of founders - there is a probability of mess in the areas of responsibility and difficulty in coordinating various issues (the situation is “swan, cancer and pike”).

Both the advantage and the minus can be the lack of analogues of the idea. On the one hand, if there are no analogues, then there are no competitors. On the other hand, most likely, very long-term investments will be required and it will take a long time to get a return.

In general, they said that investors are more than good projects, so it’s not so much the startups who have to compete with each other, as investors for a project that can “shoot”.
