Tonight, Google’s video service showed a reworked version of YouTube Mobile, which was created taking into account the features of popular operating systems from Apple (iOS) and Google (Android). The new engine for viewing videos uses only HTML5 - no Flash. The interface of the mobile version of the site has been redesigned for the touchscreen and includes features such as the Like / Dislike buttons, playlists and smart search.
The new version is more functional and faster than stand-alone YouTube applications on the iPhone and Android, since there you can now watch high-quality videos. In its video, Google seems to be trying to show Apple that their website is loading and updating even faster than the standard iPhone application. ')
The updated version currently works only for English-speaking users, so to try the interface, select the site language English (US). Support for other operating systems is not yet implemented.
