LVEE-2010 conference ended
Last weekend, a Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe conference was held near Grodno.
The conference gathered at the camp site near Grodno a hundred and fifty users and free software developers from seven participating countries. More than 30 reports were presented on a wide range of topics - from the use of free software in science and business to its development tools, portable devices with free software, features of free projects and open standards. The social theme was supplemented by a round table on the public role of free software and thematic video views. Also, the blitz-section for the first time appeared in the framework of the LVEE.

According to the decision of the public, the report “Gentoo Embedded on the Zoo of Platforms” by Maxim Melnikov was recognized as the best. The author of the winning report was presented with a memorable sign from the organizing committee and a sponsor prize from the company Promwad, which supplemented his personal zoo of devices with embedded Linux.
Abstracts of the reports were published as a thematic supplement to the issue of the Belarusian magazine IT Bel, and also with presentations are available on lvee.org , the official website of the conference. Appearance in open access and video speeches, which were recorded thanks to the conference partner it-job.by, is expected.
The conference was supported by SaM Solutions, Promwad, EPAM Systems and Local Networks.
Information partners were Linux Magazine and IT Business week magazines, as well as portals and companies [Root @ UA] Media, IT Event, usability.by, hh.by, PBXWare.ru. The Internet connection to the participants was provided by MTS, and the coverage of the conference area with a Wi-Fi network was provided by ePoint Systems.
