Intel Software Network as a platform for discussing new ideas (and start-ups) in programming

The Russian-speaking segment of the Intel Software Network has already been mentioned on Habré as a place where blogs are conducted, articles are published, holy wars are held in forums. And although the inscription on the logo says “Direct communication with Intel engineers”, not only you can talk to them on ISN. And you can talk, for example, with other members of the community and discuss your ideas. An example of such a discussion, I hope, will be created right now, when you comment (hopefully) this topic. We are quite actively writing about our static analyzer VivaMP (included in PVS-Studio, I don’t give any links - you know them :-)), intended for developers of parallel OpenMP applications. And we often do this at ISN, where we participate in the discussion. Why? Well, because very close functionality is in the compiler from Intel and the users of this compiler may well be interested in our analyzer. In addition to us, other people write about their software products in the development of which they participate or are sponsored.

For example, today a new man with the nickname NGS published the post Static Analysis: Looking at Different Angles at the ISN, in which he proposed the idea of ​​developing a tool for graphical visualization of OpenMP-programs, just built on the basis of static analysis. And right now you can take part in that discussion, speak about this idea.

On the other hand, if you have your own idea about a possible new software product for developers, then it is best to express it at ISN. For example, for a long time we have been carrying out the idea of ​​inserting into VivaMP a code analysis module written using the Intel Thread Building Blocks library. So far we have not formulated this idea as a text, but when it is framed, we will publish it in ISN.
