SciPy / NumPy science package developer will release them on .NET / IronPython
Enthought, Inc. announced in a press release (pdf) the intention to release the SciPy and NumPy libraries offering tools for scientific computing in Python for the .NET platform.
SciPy and NumPy are a package of high-performance statistical and numeric tools for the Python language. They are mainly used for fast data processing and analysis in scientific applications. Both tools have a large opensource community that expands and enhances them.
“We are very excited to offer the power of our tools to a new group of users on the .NET platform,” said Travis Oliphant, President of Enthought, in his address at the 2010 SciPy event in Austin, Texas.
