What was at BizSpark Camp

On June 29, the BizSpark Camp conference, organized by Microsoft and Startup Point, was held at the Extropolis Conference Center.

In several Russian cities, the regional partners of Startup Point organized joint online viewing for startups. Regions discussed the conference on Twitter, which was broadcast on one of the screens in the hall.
Eleven projects were evaluated by market experts and investors. Some projects have interested investors right on the speeches.

Representing Microsoft, Gaidar Magdanurov, spoke about the BizSpark Camp program, according to which a startup can get all the software it needs for 3 years for free.

Arkady Moreynis explained the work plan of the Glavstart holding and spoke about a new mentoring initiative for the Russian market.

Glavstart is a pre-investment company, or, as Moreinis said, a start-up store.
Working for the entire start-ups market, Glavstart deals not only with ready-made projects. The holding includes three companies that are engaged in projects at different stages:
The portal ideawall.ru, which opens on July 7th, gathers ideas, gives an expert assessment, develops a development team, that is, ideawall helps light heads to find golden hands. ideawall.ru
At Startup Weekend, the best ideas and teams come together to bring the idea to the prototype of the project over the weekend. The result of Startup Weekend - the finished prototype plus the development team is a good investment object, because the prototype is easier to adapt to the needs of the investor and easier to integrate into the overall business process than the project that has already taken place. moscow.startupweekend.org
Startup Point, which became part of the holding this spring, helps startups to find investments and enter the market. startuppoint.ru

To improve the quality of projects, Glavstart introduced the principle of working with mentors to the Russian market.
Mentor is a well-known IT market specialist who helps the project with its knowledge and experience. A mentor can “get involved” in a project at any stage: from the evaluation of an idea and the choice of a development strategy to the adoption of key decisions on market entry.
In order to guarantee the interest of the mentor who is responsible for the selected project with his reputation, the startup gives him a 5% share in the project.
A mentor is not a potential investor or a representative. The task of the mentor is to make the project viable and investment attractive.
These innovations and the possibility to apply them to their projects were actively discussed by the participants during coffee breaks.

How the mentoring system actually works, we will tell and show next week.
