Today we have good news: as promised, we are opening our flagship
Web standards site. This is a resource with articles, news and announcements of events
Web Standards Days , created by developers for developers.
The association “Web Standards” has a fairly long history behind it: it all started with the
Webmascon forum in 2006. Then the community was called “WSG Russia” and was the Russian-speaking wing of the
Web Standards Group - an organization that distributes web standards among developers and companies. However, it was later decided to leave the formal affiliation to the WSG and form a community oriented specifically to Russian-speaking developers.

Articles on client-based web development will be published periodically, as in any other blog. The only difference is that we set ourselves a goal to produce materials with higher quality than at other sites. This is possible by combining the experience of editors and authors.

At the time of opening, we offer you two articles:
The event section is a full-fledged archive of events that have been regularly held by our community for over 3 years. In events there is always a program of reports with links to slides of presentations and video presentations, as well as photo reports and other additional materials.
The site has a
news feed on client technology and related areas. Subscribe to
the RSS news feed , send interesting links to our editorial mail.
We invite strong authors to replenish the section with articles with relevant materials. It’s easy to become an author on web-standards.ru - just send us a draft or ready-made text of the article and we will include you in the work on the material.
Many thanks to everyone who helped without interfering, and to all who actively worked on the site: Slava Oliyanchuk (
miripiruni ), Mikhail Baranov (
404 ), Oleg Roshchupkin (
jahson ), Sergey Mezentsev (
thebits ) and Olga Aleksashenko (
engel ).
We will be very happy for any of your comments, feedback and suggestions, news and publications that we are waiting for at
wst@web-standards.ru or right there in the comments to the topic.
