Kindle Android App Released

As promised by Amazon in May, the Kindle app for Android was released. The free app can be freely downloaded from the Android Market. More than 620,000 books are available to US users in the Kindle Store. Kindle for Android supports Amazon Whispersync technology, which allows you to sync bookmarks and downloaded books to Kindle, Kindle DX, BlackBerry, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, Windows, and now Android devices.

The application also allows you to adjust the background color, font color and size, read in portrait and landscape modes, turn pages on click, adjust the screen brightness in the application.

Some features will be added in the near future, including full-text search ( it is strange that such an explicit function is not present initially ) and the purchase of books within the application.

The application supports Android version 1.6 and higher.
