Installing MS Office 2008 on a Mac without Rosetta for Dummies

As can be seen from the title, the topic is devoted to all teapots , like me, who only moved to the Mac and cannot live without an office, and the latter is for some reason not put.

The other day, becoming the lucky owner of a macbook, I found that no matter how cool you are, it’s difficult to live without MS Office, because all other office packages for poppies simply do not reach the office, or they work crookedly with bullet points, or spoil the tables, or simply turn the document saved in doc in some kind of nightmare.
Having found a wonderful note on how to put an office when it requires rosseta, I ran into a whole heap of problems.
1. I didn’t even know what a Terminal is. It turned out to be a program that is easy to find through spotlight if you drive a “terminal” into the search window (it opens by clicking on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the screen).

2. In the terminal, you need to write sudo installer-package / full path to the instal.mpkg -target /, but how to find out the full path and why do I have the file in my dmg?
The full path to the finder can be seen if everyone in the same Terminal dials
defaults write com.apple.finder _FXShowPosixPathInTitle -bool YES; killall finder

A dmg you just need to run, it will be mounted on the screw itself and a link to it will appear on the desktop. If you look at the contents of the mounted disk in the finder, there you will see the installer in mpkg, the full path to which we need.
')
3. The following problem arose in the fact that during the installation I am asked for a password, but I don’t have it (I just press enter everywhere), but for some reason the terminal stubbornly does not accept it.
The problem is solved by setting for yourself at least some password, which can be done in the settings of user accounts. You can simply dial "users" in the spotlight and select "accounts". In the accounts we set a new password and again try to make the installation in the Terminal. Hooray! Now everything is installed, and in spite of the error that the Package ... uses a deprecated pre-10.2 format (or uses a newer for mat but is ivalid) terminal issued to me in a couple of minutes, it still told me that the installation had completed successfully.
Now it remains only to start the office, activate it with a key and install updates, which can be downloaded here .

All good installations!
