Farmville game makes Mozilla update Firefox

Just three days after the release of Firefox version 3.6.4 (June 22), the Mozilla organization was forced to release an update of Firefox 3.6.6 (June 25), in which the timeout before the “killing” of the hung plug was increased.

The “out of process plug-ins” feature (OOPP) was added to version 3.6.4 and allowed to stop the execution of the Flash Player, QuickTime or Silverlight object if it hung or did not respond within ten seconds. However, right after this, on the Bugzilla forums, there appeared a mass of klins from disgruntled users of the Farmville game (on Facebook, this is similar to Happy Farm), for which this game hangs for longer intervals, and then hangs. They were unhappy that Firefox is preventing them from playing by displaying messages suggesting a "kill" process.

As a result, Mozilla was forced to release a new build 3.6.6, in which the timeout was increased to 45 seconds.

If it goes on like this, soon not websites will be optimized for browsers, but on the contrary - browsers will be specially developed so that they work as quickly as possible with the most popular web applications.
