SiteHelp - Online chat (online support) for your online store / project
SiteHelp - What is it?
SiteHelp is an online chat system, the main purpose of which as quickly as possible and without additional actions to communicate with the operator / support / consultant / seller of the site where you are.
Why is this?
As you know, very often the client of an online store needs only to find out about the presence of a particular product ...
Making a call is much more difficult and longer than making 1 click with the mouse.
Many do not like to communicate with other people.
')
How it works?
The site owner places a special code on your site.
After that, 1 (or more) "operator" is connected by any XMPP (Jabber) client to your account.
After the release of the operator "online" - the image on the site changes / appears, which says that the "operator" is now online and ready to answer your question.
The client clicks on this image and receives a live chat with the operator.
At the same time, the client can easily navigate to other pages of the site while staying in touch with the operator, and the operator, in turn, sees that the client is currently viewing, thus helping the client to “decide” the choice.
More details?
Here are the main features at the “current time”:
Many "support channels" on 1 site.
A lot of operators on 1 "support channel".
Customized operator status images (online / offline).
Customizable welcome message to the client.
Switch customer between operators.
View the “status” of channel operators (online / offline).
Support for moving the client with an open chat between the pages of the site.
The operator "sees" on which page the client is located.
The operator “sees” the client information (IP address, country, city).
I wrote this “thing” personally for myself (for my stores) and initially did not plan to make it available “publicly”. But after some time, an acquaintance asked for a “button” for himself on the site, and I decided to make it “public” by screwing the “control panel”. The server part written on a pearl from scratch (not based on nothing) in 1 stream using the AnyEvent library. 100,000 connections hold 150Mb of memory on 64bit (on 64bit FreeBSD 8.0). Jabber server is a stand-alone jabberD and it is “tied” to the system. I am the only developer. So you can ask questions to me.
I don’t give “where to see live” links, as they’ll find it worth advertising. On the site itself there is this button, in the “Contacts” section. By the way, the appearance of the button can be customized. (in the plans is also a modification of the design of the chat window under the "client")
For those who are interested - try. I hope the server does not "fall" ... sitehelp.inkiev.net
