The Android operating system has already become quite mature in terms of functionality, and now the development team has had time to think about the interface. The graphical interface of the system has hardly been changed since the first versions of the OS, but now Google is preparing a serious update of the user interface. Information about this is not yet advertised, but is known to several sources close to Google, reports the publication TechCrunch.
Now, most smartphone manufacturers use their own shells to expand the capabilities of the system interface (Sense, TouchWiz, Motorblur, etc.). These shells sometimes reduce system performance, which, in the face of competition with Apple (with their IphoneOS closed for similar applications), does not bring Google additional points.

Google plans to refine the Android interface to such an extent that third-party interface shells lose meaning, and, at the same time, prohibit manufacturers from using such shells. On the one hand, Android is positioned as a free operating system and it’s not good to restrict consumers, but on the other hand, this ban will have a positive effect on the performance and speed of release of new firmware for devices.
You can be sure if Google took it, then we got a simple, convenient and functional interface.
Ps. The release of Android 3.0, codenamed Gingerbread, is scheduled for late 2010.
