26% of iPhone breaks in the first two years of work

SquareTrade Inc. sells extended iPhone warranties and provides warranty service for them. Who else knows how often apple smartphones break down? It turns out that it is not so rare: 26% of the iPhone cease to work or become unusable physically in the first two years of use. Vice-President of the marketing direction of the company Vince Tseng believes that this is a good indicator.

After analyzing more than twenty-five thousand applications of iPhone users under warranty, SquareTrade concluded that the iPhone 3GS is more reliable and stronger than its predecessors iPhone 3G and the original iPhone.

In the SquareTrade report last year, the numbers were much more minor: 31% of the iPhone failed or broke in the first two years of operation.

The number of claims related to malfunctions of the components of the smartphone or careless handling - and the SquareTrade guarantee covers both cases - decreased compared to 2009 (10% and 21% respectively in summer 2009 and 7.5% and 18.1% at the end of May this year ).

Thus, with the release of each new model of iPhone, its characteristics are improved. Therefore, there is reason to believe that the iPhone 4 will become even more reliable. However, in terms of strength, at least one major drawback of the new iPhone is - this is a completely glass back panel.
