Yesterday, a conference called “Google Day in Ukraine” was held in Kiev, at which, at last, it was announced that Google had officially opened its office in Kiev.
At the conference, Google Business Development Manager Dmitry Sholomko, Google Vice President Nelson Mattos, and Emerging Markets Executive Director Mohammad Gavdat spoke at the conference:
This year, Google plans to expand its presence in Ukraine and will
recruit employees to the Kiev office. So we can expect the acceleration of localization and the emergence of new products. In addition, as Eric Schmidt, chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of Google, said in a video message, teams in Dublin and Zurich are also stepping up work on Ukrainian versions of the products. The main tasks of the office are localization of all basic products, more active work with map services, namely placing the maximum number of objects on maps, tighter work with partners, in particular, partner programs for the Google Chrome browser, etc.
