Bluecherry has released a GPL-licensed
driver for capturing MPEG4 video from multichannel hardware codecs. The driver supports audio and video capture from 4-, 8- and 16-channel cards using Video4Linux and ALSA API.
Thus, now it is possible to build multi-channel DVRs on Linux, which will be part of, for example, video surveillance systems. In principle, such video servers can find other applications, in addition to security systems.
At the moment, the drivers have been fully tested and tested for the Softlogic 6010 card, which now works 100% under Linux.

Bluecherry is currently working on a similar driver with H.264 support.
