Alternative method of working at the computer

Most of us spend an incredible amount of time in a sitting position in front of the monitor. An alternative method, which I will describe, involves not sitting, but standing at the computer.

On the screen absolutely fantastic chair, do without it.



So what is needed:

1. Make two coasters

2. Become straight, straighten your back

3. Put the monitor at eye level

4. Bend your arms at a right angle, and at this level arrange the keyboard and mouse.

5. Continue work



Everyone can decide for themselves whether to experiment or stay in a chair.

All the pros and cons of this approach are described below.



So, deciding on the experiment, you can:



Overcome laziness



Sitting at the computer, it is often necessary to get up, help with household chores, etc. But you do not want to get up, and you postpone until the last.



Conclusion: working while standing, you can simply step back and quickly do everything, and not even forget that the kettle has already boiled.



Correct posture



No matter how many rules have been written about the correct fit, at best, they are carried out only the first 2-3 days. In a sitting position, a person is relaxed and wants to fall apart in a chair. Over time, laziness will win, no matter how you resist.



Conclusion: working while standing, you unconsciously try to keep your posture, which is very favorable for the back.



Take breaks



Written a huge number of programs that limit the work at the computer and forced to take forced breaks. How many times have I set one for myself, after a couple of days I deleted it permanently.



Conclusion: working while standing, you can only work for a certain time, then your legs get tired, and there is a natural need to move away from the computer for 10-15 minutes to sit down to rest.



Of the minuses:



Minus number 1. At first it is unusual. The body needs to return to the chair, and it clearly does not want to change. So it was with me when I was told about this method. At first I laughed and continued to sit, until one fine day my back ached.



Minus number 2. For the office, this option is certainly not suitable, colleagues will be at least in shock. But freelancers and people who even after work sit at the computer, I advise you to look at this way of working.



Minus number 3. The legs can be very tired, and if you still need to work long and hard on the project and the deadline is tight, you must provide a quick transition back to a sitting position.



A warning. You can not stand for long, relying only on one leg, otherwise you can hurt your back.



I myself am a freelancer, and for about a year I have been working this way. Turning on the music, you can move to the beat with it, and concentrate all your thoughts on work. In this way, a sedentary lifestyle is partially compensated.
