The Israeli company Anobit Technologies has entered the market with its first product, which could revolutionize the field of high-performance server SSDs. The company introduced the
first SSD-drive with a processor that significantly increases the reliability of MLC cells. This refers to the proprietary DSP, which they call the MSP (Memory Signal Processor) developed by Anobit Technologies. Using a special software in the controller, it improves the signal-to-noise ratio in the SSD. Thus, the MLC cell resource (multilevel cell) rises from the standard 3000 write / erase cycles to more than 50,000 cycles.
In other words, SSDs with MLC are becoming suitable for applications such as relational databases. For example, a 400-gigabyte Genesis SSD drive can handle 4 terabytes of recordings daily for five years. The disc has the characteristics of 20,000 operations per second for writing and 30,000 operations per second for reading.

MLC flash memory is traditionally used for consumer products, such as MP3 players, for which reliability is not very important. High-end devices use SLC NAND.
