Yahoo! will soon open the Yahoo! Messenger.

Opening a new RESTful API, Yahoo! allow users to develop their own programs and tools that can do almost everything that the Yahoo! Messenger.

According to product manager Dudley Wong, the development will require only a little knowledge of HTTP and JSON.
