ICFPC 2010

Soon, this Friday, the thirteenth annual programming contest will start, timed to coincide with the annual conference on functional programming.

In past years, participants had to do archeolinguistic programming (2006), adapt an alien with his UFO to life on Earth (2007), control the rover, escape from evil Martians (2008), and fly satellites in near-Earth space (2009).

If someone wants to refresh his memory - a year ago I collected links to Russian-language reports on space odyssey.

As always, the competition will last three days (72 hours). The start will be given on Friday, June 18, at noon GMT, and, as always, there will be another lightning round (according to the results of the first 24 hours).

Judging by the short description on the contest website, this time we will most likely do without the torment of 2008 from the LiveCD and again we will write our virtual machine to perform some provided byte-code.

Now is just the time to still find a team, or form your own, if you haven’t had the opportunity before. We also need to remember that the favorite version control system and other useful things can help in this competition.

Maybe someone right here, in the comments to this post and find their mates, so write - do not hesitate. I can say with absolute certainty that participation in this competition is extremely interesting, and emotions and fun lasts for many weeks!
