In continuation of previous reviews of a product being prepared for public beta testing under the code name “Moxie” , and in the common people known as Flex 3, Ted Patrick tells us about how the guys from Adobe set themselves the goal of reducing the size of flash drives (SWF). Indeed, files with a size of 500+ kilos small can hardly be called a hand. :)
And they decided to go by caching the Flex Framework player. Flex 3 and the new Flash Player release codenamed “FrogStar” will have this feature. This feature is nothing more than a revolution in Flex-based applications deployed in Flash Player (we are not talking about Apollo applications yet). Caching the Flex Framework player allows you to dramatically reduce the size of the resulting SWF files. SWF files will contain only their own code plus Flex Preloader containing caching and loading logic, but will not contain the main framework.
How exactly will the file size change as a result? We look:
BEFORE CASH APPLICATION:
Flex SWF with Button ')
Flex SWF with Button, ComboBox, TabNavigator
Flex SWF with All Flex Framework Components
AFTER CASH APPLICATION:
Flex 3 SWF with Button
Flex 3 SWF with Button, ComboBox, TabNavigator
Flex SWF with All Flex Framework Components
I will describe some details a little later, and those who can not wait, can read the original .
