Browsers on the KHTML engine (WebKit)

KHTML is a lightweight, fast and modern open source engine. It is based on the early Gecko code, which has been reworked, improved and optimized. Thanks to good speed, buildability and portability, this engine has found application in many browsers, and just programs that display html-pages.
In addition, Based on KHTML, Apple is developing the WebKit engine, which formed the basis of the Safari browser. However, due to the conditions of use of KHTML, all Apple development results are freely used on a par with native KHTML.


Konqueror
Lightweight browser for KDE on Linux. Differs in the high speed of work and support of modern standards. It is actively used in the KDE environment as a file manager. Among the shortcomings are problems with some javascripts and recognition of outdated encodings.

Safari
Standard browser in Apple Mac OS X. The first browser that passed Acid2 test.
