I think that the Habrereads saw my post
Asus Crosshair IV Formula - a red and black champion in which I spoke about the main features of the board. But you wanted more, or maybe you are already accustomed to overclocking topics on our blog)
And I'm ready to share with you the results of overclocking the AMD Phenom X6 1090T processor on liquid nitrogen
')
The extreme overclocking of the AMD Phenom processor should begin with the understanding that the system itself can freeze. The main feature of AMD Phenom processors is the lack of coldbug - a certain temperature, below which the system loses its performance. Therefore, you can safely lower the temperature to the boiling point of liquid nitrogen -196 degrees Celsius. And the computer will work.
But over time, other components of the system begin to freeze - for example, the memory, the processor power supply circuit, expansion slots, etc., become covered with frost.
To avoid such that is presented in the photographs above, you must very carefully isolate the stand. The insulation can be made of neoprene, toilet paper, but I prefer to use soft yellow towels. Their advantage is that the protruding frost lingers on them at the expense of hair, and they manage to protect the system from frostbite.

2x2 Gb DDR3 Corsair Dominator GT
AMD Radeon HD5670 ES
Seagate Baraccuda 7200.12 1Tb
Cooler Master MPower 1000W
Another interesting feature of overclocking AMD is the possibility of overclocking only one (necessary) of the six cores. Let me explain the plus: The processor cores, though they form a single whole, but have different overclocking potential. Therefore, in overclocking Intel processors, we run into the limit of the weakest core. And AMD leaves us with a choice.
On my processor, the second core turned out to be the best.
Unfortunately, I was somewhat limited in time, so I did not have time to do other tests. But in general, the impressions of the Asus Crosshair IV Formula remained the same as after talking on the air - this is the best choice for AMD enthusiasts and fans.
