Automatic shutdown of the touchpad while typing

While typing on a laptop, the palm of your hand often touches the touchpad, which causes the cursor to move and press in random places on the screen.

On some laptops, the touchpad cannot be turned off with a quick keyboard shortcut. On some, you can't do it at all (some macbooks, some netbooks).

The question arises: Is it impossible to automatically disable the touchpad (ignore touch and touch) directly while typing?

Why is this not done by default in order to ensure the comfort of ordinary users who cannot find the necessary settings and individual programs and are not aware of their existence?
