Take part in the competition and get a grant from HP

This year, Russia entered the list of target countries in which grant programs for schools, colleges, universities and non-state educational institutions will be deployed. All of them have a chance to get funding for their projects that put modern technology at the service of education.

As part of a global initiative with the sonorous name of HP Catalyst, 5 consortia will be created to work on new effective approaches to the teaching of the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics.

Igor Belousov, the leading manager of educational programs of HP in Russia, talks about the programs:

Topics for research are already defined, as well as organizations under whose patronage all project participants will work. Each consortium will receive a grant in the amount of ~ $ 1 million in the form of equipment, cash and support of HP specialists who will assist in the activities of organizations.

All program information is available at hp.com/go/hpcatalyst . Until June 30, you can (and should) declare your intention to participate in the competition, and the applications themselves can be submitted until August.

In addition to the HP Catalyst initiative, the contest “HP award for innovation in the field of educational technologies” is also open for participants from Russia.

This program is for teachers who use advanced technology for classroom and extracurricular activities. In 2010, about 10 educational institutions will receive a grant of about $ 40,000, and will also become members of a social network that helps the winners in their further development, encourages the exchange of ideas and experience.

You must apply for participation in this contest before June 30, 2010 - hp.com/go/edtech .

In general, all information about HP grants, selection criteria, conditions and deadlines for submitting applications can be found here: hp.com/hpinfo/grants/education .

We invite all educational organizations to use the chance to take the initiative and become part of the community of grantees, already uniting 90 universities, schools, colleges, lyceums and gymnasiums throughout Russia.

Good luck!
