ASUS on Computex 2010

Yesterday, I wrote about the fact that Intel presented at the most interesting international computer exhibition, and today - a couple of words about how ASUS has pleased the public.

image
A lot of delicious things under the cut :)

Today is the third day of the exhibition, and perhaps the most interesting is yet to come. In a couple of lines about the devices that were presented at the exhibition:

image ASUS Eee Pad EP121 Tablet
12 '' - inch tablet with multitouch support, built on the Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor and running on Windows 7 Home Premium. Unlike the iPad, there is a built-in webcam, handwriting recognition and full support for high-quality video.
There will also be a 10 '' - inch version of the ASUS Eee Pad EP101 (weighing 675 grams and 12.2mm thick) running Windows Embedded Compact 7.

image Tablet ASUS Eee Tablet
A touchscreen (8 ", 1024x768 with a sensitivity of 2540dpi) is a notebook with a passive TFT display without illumination (it looks like electronic paper; however, it can also be used as an e-book) capable of" turning pages "in 0.1 seconds and with the ability to sketches notes right in the books. There is a 2-megapixel camera and support for Micro-SD card, and will connect to the computer via normal USB. It is also known that any additional templates, functions and applications can be downloaded in the usual Wi-Fi. In more detail about it already wrote .

image ASUS Home Server
The manufacturer called the device "TS Mini Home Server", but as I understand it, this is a regular external network drive (with up to 4TB + 500GB disks in the online storage) with the ability to show content from the outside to anyone - in general, something like NETGEAR Stora from recent review. And yes, it seems like it can serve up to 10 computers.

image

image Monoblock ASUS EeeTop PC ET 24
An all-in-one system with a 24-inch (more precisely, 23.6, with a resolution of 1920x1080) display and multitouch support. The choice will be several processors - Intel Core or dual-core Pentium / AMD Athlon ll X2. No more details, we only know that the device can show stereo image, and on board - an innovative audio system ASUS SonicMaster, digital TV tuner, Bluray-drive, USB3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0.

image
image Gaming laptop ASUS G53
Enhanced a series of RoG devices for enthusiasts and, for the most part, players. 15-inch screen with support for three-dimensional images (NVIDIA 3D Vision; like on a laptop G51J-3D, about which I wrote ) and its output, dual or quad-core processor and up to 16GB of RAM. It is also the first laptop with WirelessHD technology! Although no, the second ... technology also supports the new G73JW with a 17-inch screen.

Laptops ASUS U35 and U45, ASUS VX6 Lamborghini, new B-and PL-series - I'll write more about this separately. The ASUS NX90 was also shown once again - I hope it will soon be possible to review it.

image Network Media Player ASUS O! Play HD2 Media Player
I already wrote about the very first device model, and this is the logical continuation of a series of popular devices. Inside there is a place for 3.5 '' hard disk, support for USB3.0 and NAS functions. It is also known that Opera is pre-installed on the device - there will be a lot of online radio stations available, google search, all sorts of facebook and other stuff. And yes, there will now be support for 7.1-channel audio.

image

image ASUS Xonar Xense Sound Card
The heiress of the ASUS Xonar Essence ST audiophile card, about which I wrote an unpublished review on Habré) The Sennheiser PC350 Xense Edition headphones will be included with the sound card.
image

image The ASUS Cine5 PC Speaker audio system is a stylish, portable 5-channel soundbar .

image Internal writing Blu-ray-drive ASUS BW-12B1TL . It seems like one of the fastest writing drives :)

image

image The company also showed a series of monitors, made by "green technologies" - with LED backlight (consumes 45% less energy than conventional LCD monica) and recycled plastics. The entire series of ultra-thin monitors ASUS Designo consists of models with a screen diagonal from 20 to 24 inches. All of them support Full-HD 1080p and ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio technology, which provides a contrast ratio of 10.000.000: 1.

Developing its “Green ASUS” concept, the company showed its eco-friendly laptops of the “bamboo” series at the exhibition, a review of one of the models I recently did .

image
New lithium-ion batteries were presented - they have a longer service life, charge faster, are safer to handle and are cheaper than regular ones. The Boston Power Sonata Series eco-friendly battery series is marked by the Nordic Ecolabel and Chinese Ecolabel signs, and also received many different certificates. The first models to use new batteries will be ASUS notebooks from the commercial series B43 and B53 - thanks to the ASUS Xpress Charge technology, they will be able to fully charge in just 90 minutes.

Well, so far everything. If something is still interesting - I will definitely write!

By the way, not so long ago, I reviewed the ASUS G51J-3D gaming laptop - it was one of the first laptops that fully complied with the specifications of the NVIDIA 3D Vision stereoscopic image technology. Simply put - a laptop that can show the most current three-dimensional (stereoscopic) image. So, an international jury at Computex 2010 awarded this device the award "Best Choice" in the categories of "Eco-friendly information technology."

image

In addition to the laptop, this award received two other products: the ASUS Eee PC 1015PE netbook and the ASUS AP-N53 wireless router.

image

image I already briefly wrote about the netbook - a small machine with a 10-inch display, which, thanks to the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine technology, can work for up to 13.5 hours on a single battery charge.

But I almost never wrote about routers - because I have very little experience and knowledge in this area for review) However, now I looked at the information about the awarded ASUS AP-N53 - a really interesting device. With its modest size and weight (only 85x60 mm at 60 g), the router consists of as many as four devices in one: it can serve as a wireless access point, wireless client, universal repeater and, in fact, a wireless router. Work is supported in two frequency bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), and peak data transfer speeds are promised up to 300 Mbps.

In general, "trifle", but nice :)

image Do not hesitate to join the ranks of fans of the company on Habré!

Successes!
