Yesterday, HP released the latest addition to the DreamColor line of monitors, designed for printing professionals, 3D animation, industrial design, and all those who really appreciate color accuracy. The 30-inch
HP ZR30w, with its 30-bit S-IPS matrix, is capable of displaying more than 1 billion colors, 64 times the vast majority of modern, 24-bit LCD monitors.
ZR30w displays the entire sRGB palette and 99% displays Adobe RGB. For the average user, this will mean that all colors will look more like themselves, and objects on the screen will appear deeper, brighter and clearer than on the monitor on which you are currently reading this text.
Together with outstanding color gamut options, the ZR30w features a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and a 3000: 1 dynamic contrast ratio. The traditional lagging of the S-IPS matrices in contrast, thus, has almost been overcome.

But the most important, in my opinion, parameter of the new DreamColor is its price, starting in the US starting at $ 1,299. Expensive?
But I remind you that in June 2008, HP introduced the
HP DreamColor LP2480zx monitor, which is also capable of transmitting a color depth of 30 bits (10 bits per pixel). LCD monitors with such parameters were then available only to professionals who were not embarrassed by the 5-digit dollar amount on the price tag. The same model was developed over the course of two years specifically for DreamWorks Animation, which did not want to invest so much in upgrading the jobs of its employees, while still having to use CRT monitors. The starting price of the HP LP2480zx was $ 3,499 - and it was radically cheap!
Of course, it is too early to wait for a new product in Russia. And its price in rubles will not be so good anymore ... But this is a completely different, sad story.
