Google plans to release Chrome OS in the late fall. This was
announced by Google’s vice president of product management, Sundar Pichai, at the Computex computer show in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital.
According to Pichai, the first version of the operating system will be designed specifically for laptops. At the same time, the company will selectively approach the further distribution of the platform in the market.
It is expected that free Chrome OS will be able to compete with Microsoft operating systems, which occupies more than 90% of the market.
