The topic of typos has already been discussed , and solutions have been proposed . However, I dare to suggest my own solution, since the problem is still not solved.
The essence of the problem
The presence of typos in the article does not please the users. They report typos in the comments. Comments drift away from the topic.
What does not suit Orphus
Too many users report the same typo;
Accordingly, the notification should be sent not to the webmaster, but to the author of the article.
Proposed Solution
Finding a typo, the user selects it, and presses, for example, the same Ctrl + Enter (yes, just like in Orphus);
A special CSS style is applied to the misprinted word, which changes the text selection color from blue (by default), for example, to red. Thanks to this, they will not report a typo a second time - by highlighting a word, it will be seen that they have already been informed about it;
Before sending the drug to the author, check if this word has already been taken into account - for cases when the article is already open in a couple of minutes, and during this time other users have managed to send a notification.
As for the personal message, by the way, a separate topic. You can create a separate section in personal mail. There you can check for duplicate messages. You can not send the drug to the author at all, but only add some kind of notification (for example, in the author’s habcenter) - they say your article contains typos. The author opens his article, presses Ctrl + A, sees which and corrects. ')
It is also possible, when pressing Ctrl + Enter, to open a prompt that will specify exactly how to fix it, which can be added to this unfortunate word as a tooltip (title parameter).
