Forismatic a year later. Share experience

Almost a year has passed since the launch of Forzmatica - our favorite project, where we collect the most inspiring and motivating sayings of humanity. We want to tell what happened during this time, share the secrets of success and, of course, hear your thoughts and your opinion!

Briefly about innovations

For users:

Ways to success

For us, feedback is always very important, the reason for almost all innovations was requests and suggestions from users. We try to be open to everyone, so we can always help developers and cooperate with them with pleasure.


This kind of collaboration with the guys from Alterplay was the reason for success in the world of iPhone applications. We were pleasantly surprised when literally one week after apruv, the Charismatic app came out on top among all free apps on the App Store Russia . We realized that people liked the application, and gladly began to refine it taking into account all reviews (integration with Facebook, Facebook, VKontakte, Twitter, SMS, Email, favorites system, night and day modes, etc.). As can be seen from experience, the market for Russian iPhone applications is not yet sufficiently saturated, so you can easily go to the top, which gives good public relations in online media and, of course, audience growth. Now through the iPhone about 100,000 quotes per day are viewed, people spend 15-20 minutes per day in the application, apparently, just so much is needed to be inspired :)


The next pleasant surprise for us was the Yandex widget . It turns out the competition in this area is also not very high, and efforts to create a widget are minimal, so you can take note of this. Now the widget views about 3,000 unique visitors per day, taking into account the subject of the project, this is pretty good.


The screensaver is now working offline. If there is a connection, it can update the database of quotes and load new skins. Approximately 90,000 quotes per day are shown through the screensaver, but here it is necessary to take into account that not everything is read by a person, it is still a screensaver.

We like to be open. Today, approximately 8,000 quotes per day are requested through the API, not counting the days when someone tries to download our database of quotes and the mark increases to 100,000 requests per day :) There were already publications on Habré on the topic of using Forismatic API ( Mac client) a , quotes in the console: one and two ). For example, there is still an extension for Google Chrome and a client for Meizu M8 . If you want to support the project, you can help in creating a client for Android or a screensaver for Mac.

And of course, the most important factor for success in any project is the passion for the project by the authors themselves. So get inspired and boldly go to your dream!

UPD: I really need the help of system programmers (Windows) for writing command line utilities, which would give information about the settings of 2 monitor systems.
