Flash Destroyer: a device for destroying flash drives
As you know, flash memory has a very limited resource read and write cycles. To test SSD disks of various manufacturers, a Flash Destroyer device was developed (under the Open Source license), which loads the flash drives until they start to fail. The counter demonstrates the process of destruction of the EEPROM in real time.
Virtually any flash memory module can be disabled after 1 million write cycles. Flash Destroyer operates at a speed of 736 write and verification cycles per minute, so it takes about 22 hours to run 1 million cycles. ')
Source files and drawings for designing the device are available via Google Code. You can solder it yourself or order it ready for $ 30.
