I don’t know how for you, but for me the iPhone (any similar device could be in its place) turned out to be a portable killer of “dead” time - while the wife is dressing, waiting in line for a doctor, in a supermarket, anywhere.
My recipes: - Reading books / articles, more often articles - it is easier to swallow them whole in 10-15 minutes - Postponed chess games - you can get out of your pocket and think about the move (the idea is good, but I go in such situations is stupid - chess requires concentration) - Facebook and Twitter - timeline - short videos a la TED - meditation on the list of tasks Things and its sorting ...
