Solar system drawn (not to scale) with CSS3
Alex Girón composed a demonstration and an explanatory blog (with elements of the source code) dedicated to the tracing of the moving Solar system using border-radius, CSS animation and affine CSS transformations (namely, animated turns from 0 ° to 360 °).
In Firefox, this demonstration looks like a fixed illustration:
