On LJ servers is a powerful DDoS attack

LJ communities dni, ru_politics and ru_nazbol became a target for DDoS-attacks, reports the SUP service .

Since Friday, June 1, a powerful denial of service attack has been launched on LiveJournal servers in California. To reflect it, the LJ administration from Friday last introduced filtering of incoming packets and limited access to the server for large blocks of Russian IP addresses.

“These measures are temporary and forced. Decisions on a specific list of stop words and addresses to be blocked are made by technical services at SixApart, based on the analysis of incoming requests. The impossibility of posting comments and comments containing the words ru_politics, dpni and ru_nbp in LiveJournal is linked to the effect of these filters, ”the report says.

The attack was preceded by the tragic events in Stavropol: two local students were found killed. The crime was committed, according to one of the versions, by Chechens "in the framework of blood feud."
